Dancewear House is a specialty store located in Downtown Hallowell.  We specialize in dance shoes and clothing for all types of dance. We also service gymnasts, skaters, and cheerleaders.  Yoga, Belly Dancing, and Ballroom Dancing are newer additions to the store’s specialty inventory.  We carry the finest in dance shoes and apparel from companies around the world including;  Capezio, Bodywrappers, Bloch, Grishko, Freed, and Eurotard.  For a full list of vendors see Vendor Page.

Dancewear House History

Dancewear House was opened in Farmingdale in 1981 by Jim and Carol Stevens. The mission was to serve fitness enthusiasts and dancers.  Carol Glockler bought the business in 1989 and moved the store to its Hallowell home in 1990.  Over it’s 17 years at 128 Water Street, Dancewear House has grown and developed alongside dancers all across the state of Maine.  One of those dancers, Melanie E. Randall, now owns the store. With her mother, Mary Elisabeth Randall, right by her side, they aim to deliver the same quality service that Dancewear House has provided for over 25 years.
